Structure and approach

Despite IELTS being an academic focused proficiency exam, we consider the students’ interests and ages when delivering the course. This means that they will be doing mini projects around the vocabulary topics we cover, to also allow them to develop English Language skills, academic study skills, and the ability to use English effectively in real world interactions, including study and work.

We use a vocabulary and topic driven approach with specific exam task preparation and tips. The vocabulary focus ensures that students have sufficient vocabulary to deal with some of the more abstract topics in IELTS to ensure you can get the score you want. We cover 20 units each with exam practice for reading or listening, as well as a specific speaking and writing practice task for each unit.

There is an explicit focus on the writing and speaking parts with personalised feedback. The personalised study plan is designed around the individual needs of each student, with constant one on one feedback from the teacher specifically around how to improve performance in the speaking and writing parts of the exam.

We combine our exam preparation approach with academic study skills that students can apply at school, and in their future academic endeavours at university.

Our teachers

Our teachers are experts at international assessments, but also in the specific subject areas. For example, our math teachers are certified math teachers rather than English teachers with some math skills. Our teachers are also experts in the individual parts of the exam meaning you are likely to have different teachers teaching different parts of the course.
